Highlighting Customers Across Industries

Google doesn't make tech for the sake of tech. They make tech to make life easier for everyday people, including those working at businesses large or small.

We were asked to showcase success stories of businesses that use Google Surveys and Google Domains. And to properly do so, we knew we had to get out and meet these people. See the work we they do. Capturing the bustling feel of their workplace.

We highlighted small businesses for Domains, and then specific large business verticals for Surveys, and leveraged similar production styles for each. Testimonial footage and b-roll helped immerse viewers in companies like Lenovo and Buzzfeed, where they could see and hear how Google's products empower employees to get the job done.

Explaining to an Internal Audience

If your company is constantly innovating, you also need to be constantly educating too. And educational video content isn't just for customers—it's also for your entire staff. They run sales, maintain partnerships with advertisers, and work on PR and social initiatives. And they need to know the ins-and-outs of products and processes too.

We've worked with Kate Smith, a Google Global Learning Specialist, to develop internal explainers about a variety of topics including AI and partnership programs. For each of these projects, we needed to distill down complex topics and communicate them visuals in a way that also matches Google's simple, clean branding. No sweat! Smooth motion, clean design and smart scripts are our speciality.

"Demo Duck consistently wows me when I work with them. They have an incomparable ability to take a complex idea and turn it into a simple and fun video that speaks to my audience."

Making Masters with E-Learning Content

Google's employees are busy folks. And episodic educational videos make leraning on-demand, allowing them to become "masters" on their own time. We worked with Google's team to capture content of internal subject matter experts sharing lessons, and then elevated that footage with title cards, motion graphics and more. The goal was to create videos that felt loose and friendly, but still with a defined structure that reinforced information and was easy to re-visit in a pinch.

Building a New Brand, With New Partners

A new Google offering needed help getting off the ground. Ironic, because it's buried in the ground.

GFiber is Google's fast, reliable fiber optic internet, and is essentially a unique brand in their own right. Although they share the classic Google design DNA, they have their own messaging, design preferences, client team and a marketing agency they work with named Jackson Spalding. So even with our history with Google as a client, we needed to build relationships and instill trust with a new group of people. We're used to working with direct clients and agency folks alike, so the Jackson Spalding relationship felt natural.

We started by creating a conference video that helped introduce the GFiber brand at an industry event. We utilized a chunky and warm 1970s retro exploration of the GFiber brand set to Jim Croce's iconic song "I've Got a Name." Everyone was happy with how things went with that initial project, so the GFiber partnership expanded to also include some colorful customer-facing explainer videos as well. For one of these, we explained how GFiber is installed using colorful visual aids, characters, pops of playfulness and more.
