Late last year we thought to ourselves: “We’re a video company… why are we bothering with boring old-fashioned written blogs when we can do VIDEO BLOGS?!”
Video Blogs (or vlogs, as the kids are calling them these days) are a unique to way to share information with subscribers. So, after many, many days of brainstorming we came up with a few ideas to get started.
The first installation is our take on a little show from across the pond that you may have heard of (psst it’s Downton Abbey). Now, I don’t know about you guys, but we’re pretty obsessed with this show around here. For a while Andrew was even playing Downton Abbey – The Essential Collection on repeat (have a listen, you won’t be disappointed).
We knew that we couldn’t go full Downton for the first blog, so we settled on doing our own little take on the Masterpiece Classic Intro performed by the one and only, Laura Linney. If you’re curious as to why the heck Laura Linney introduces a British television show even though she is American like we were, you can read this article, which isn’t very informative. Regardless, Laura Linney cracks us up every time, so we thought we would take a stab at her intense delivery, as well as the always dramatic Masterpiece Classic “book intro”.
So have a look, let us know what you think, and STAY TUNED for more vlogs coming your way!
Hello. I’m Laura Mancini, and you’re watching a Demo Duck video blog.
Since the Frenchman Louis Lumiere invented the motion picture camera in 1895, the world has been captivated by moving pictures. Today, we explore the spellbinding magic of online video.
And at Demo Duck, we believe in the power of video.
Stephan: It helps you connect with your audience, and gives you a chance to show off your personality (possible cutaway to Stephan on the rocking tiger or similar).
Andrew: It’s a quick and efficient way to explain your product, service, or business.
Laura: And it can dramatically increase your conversion rates and help you generate more sales.
There are plenty of ways you can use video at your company this year, whether it’s an explainer video, a customer testimonial, or just a quick video post, like this one.
Every few weeks, we’ll be bringing you useful video tips and tricks using…video.
So stay tuned, and sign up on the blog to keep up with the latest posts.
