If you can overlook 4-5 months of ice and wind, Chicago is a great place to be! But despite the cold weather, Chicago is quickly becoming a hub for tech startups. Exciting companies like 37Signals, GrubHub, SitteryCity, Sprout Social, SurePayroll, Threadless, and Train Signal all call Chicago home (for more Chicago startups, here is a list of 50 Startups to watch). Programs like Future Founders, incubators like Excelerate, and co-working spaces like 1871 are all contributing to the growth and excitement surrounding the Chicago startup scene.
You won’t find Demo Duck on the top 100 list yet, but we’re proud to be a Chicago startup. We’ve had the pleasure of creating online video for some of our favorite Chicago companies, including FeeFighters, SingleHop, Rivs.com and more. Connecting with local startups gives us a chance to learn more about the companies in our backyard, and help them use online video production to explain and promote their startups.
The list of new and promising Chicago startups is growing everyday, and we’re looking forward to being a part of it for a long time to come.
