Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of creating over 100 animated videos and screencasts (you can watch some of the explainer videos here). We also produced a few live videos for some of our clients, like Trulia, SoundHound and Guardly. However, we never officially launched our live video production service…until now!
Why Live Video?
Live video is a really great medium for an explainer video. It adds a little extra human touch that you can’t replicate with animation or screencasting. And people like talking (or in this case, listening) to people, which makes a live video potentially more engaging. That’s not to say animation or screencasting don’t work – they certainly do, and they both have their right place, but live video is just one more approach we now offer our clients.
Why Now?
Until now, we didn’t have the right talent or locations available to be able to offer live video production. Now we have a talented team in-house, as well as the studio space we need to make great videos! Combined with our animation and screencasting capabilities, the online video production capabilities are nearly limitless.
How Much Does it Cost?
The inevitable question…and the oft-quoted answer…”it depends”. But it’s true. A live video production may consist of a “simple” direct-to-camera production, where we have someone (you, your customer or an actor/actress) speaking to the camera, or it may include multiple locations, multiple talents and animation overlay to boot. That being said, the typical live video production starts around $5,000. Where Can You Shoot?
In addition to our studio, and the ability to shoot anywhere in the Chicagoland area, we’ve also partnered with TurnHere to be able to offer our live video services around the world.
