SaaS Explainer Video Production
Effective B2B video content can convert those leads into customers
Bringing your platform to life with video
The tech is ready.
The narrative is taking shape.
Your customers are waiting.
It's time to dive into a SaaS explainer video to communicate the value of your platform to the world and, more specifically, to potential customers. As you walk through the email door with Demo Duck we'll gladly leverage our 15+ years of doing this to help fill in any knowledge or content gaps on how to make the most effective video possible.
This video, and it's various cut downs or variations, should live on your homepage, your social media channels, YouTube, and, if possible, promoted across a few of those platforms and CTV as well.
Let's dive into how Demo Duck approaches this type of content and some considerations for production whether you work with us or not.
Here's how we approach SaaS explainer videos
UI: Sell the steak
Look, this is about the tech, so let's not lose sight of that and make sure we leave time to show viewers what the platform looks and feels like. This can be done with actual UI, illustrated version of it (more evergreen), or fully abstracted versions. No matter what, we can't speak only in theory and need to see some of that lovely platform one way or another.
Bookends: Keep some sizzle
A video can be effective if it isn't engaging. To start and end the videos, we want to find creative ways, with our script and visuals, to make sure we keep viewers watching and give them a sense that your product and brand are high-quality. A lot of these B2B technologies aren't cheap, so the video shouldn't feel cheap either and the sizzle you add to the video can strategically communicate sophistication.
Produce variants and promote
Back in the early 2010s, when Demo Duck first started making explainer videos for SaaS, it was widely accepted and expected to make a single 60-90s explainer video, slap it on your website, and call it a day. Now, it's more important than ever to put some extra budget towards variants of different lengths and/or focusing on different audiences, while also leaving some room in the coffer to put some dollars behind promoting all these various assets digitally.

Let's let the product sizzle more
Of course maybe you, or your product team, that has worked so hard on the technology wants the video to really display the full firepower of the platform. Well, here's a few videos from our portfolio that highlight more of the UX journey for viewers.
